well, of course it is, sorta.. whenever you have to deal with a sentence w/in a sentence and it starts with "But", it makes any examination of it a bit more difficult -- just reading it... messes with your head, because there's a but in it... how else would you word it... it's in response, saying that you agree with someone, what you're agreeing on, and why...

I agree that this, "But singular products need the illusion of acceptability.", appears to be the only acceptable sentence in the first paragraph that represents a valid thesis statement.

I was taught that what happens outside the comma's should read like a complete sentence. What occurs between the comma's is secondary to the sentence.

I agree that this appears to be the only acceptable sentence in the first paragraph that represents a valid thesis statement.

use ellipsis- I would have to agree, "...(S)ingular products need the illusion of acceptability.", appears to be the only acceptable sentence in the first paragraph that represents a valid thesis statement.

proper form

That's how I would write it.

You show up once a month and you choose to post in this thread?
Are you well?
Has that rash cleared up yet?
How's your mum?
Have you eaten any spotted dick lately?

Sometimes, curiousity is a bad thing.
