Default Forgive Me, Say Please, Pleeeeaasssee!!!! OK!

Forgiveness is the mental, emotional and/or spiritual process of ceasing to feel resentment or anger against another person for a perceived offense, difference or mistake, or ceasing to demand punishment or restitution.

Since the Church's very existence is formed by God's forgiveness it operates as a people of forgiveness, forgiven and forgiving, inextricably tied to peacemaking and justice.

Peter came to Jesus and asked, 'Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?' Jesus answered, 'I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times (or seventy times seven).'" (Matthew 18:21-22)

Keeping an unforgiving attitude causes loss of hair, wrinkles of skin, much earlier signs of high blood pressure, heart attacks, strokes, loss of sex drive, incontinence, irritable bowel syndrome, Dementia.

Being unforgiving is prideful, and just like bad karma, the same thing can happen with being unforgiving. Being unforgiving is what children do, and that is why they need to taught how to forgive. When adults do it, its just plain ignorance and fear to keep putting wood under the fire. A person that can forgive, is a person that is more valuable, has more taste, class, and is just plain cool to be around.

Not only that, Jesus' most famous prayer includes this "Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. It's something many prefer to gloss over.

People with lots of ego cannot forgive, me thinks. Or those who have a very straight way of living. My mom is a very correct person irl, bur she is certainly not the most forgiving one. And she absolutely never forgets.

This is true, and pride gets in the way. But God has magical ways of bringing those tall trees down to stumps overnite.

cute avvie, FM .

Angelone, aren't you right !!! She's not a bad person by any means, she's just very very correct to everyone and holds it personal when those around her don't treat her the way she treats them.

Interesting.

In Men are From Mars, Women are from Venus, the author postulates that men cannot say they are sorry because it is an admission of guilt, stupidity, and that they are less of a man.

Conversely, Women constantly say that they are "sorry" to each other. When they say it, they mean, "I feel the same, bad way you do....I'm sorry."

Lol, my mom's a lot like men, then. She does admit she's sorry, in the end, if it is on a very important issue (or if she absolutely has no other way out). Not that she's not sorry, which she is. She just doesn't say it.

The years have started to melt her down .
