She worked down at the local Pizza Biscuit, where everyone knows its not a biscuit until its a Pizza Biscuit. She drove an old brown Chevette with one of the windows taped. Just so happens to be, her name was Burt. Her mother named her after her Great Grand Father, Pa Pa Burt. Now Pa Pa Burt had a son named Sonny.Sonny made moonshine called Hurtin Burton. People came from all over the country during the Prohibition to purchase some of his sauce. When the police raided the farm, they say the Proof was well over 200%!!
Now Ezra Brooks lived in Kentucky back in the 1800's. She made whiskey the old fashioned way, and Pa Pa Burt worked for her. Ezra taught Pa Pa Burt how to make whiskey. She said the trick to her famous sauce was to add some chocolate. She said people would come for miles to buy it, and they did. She could not make it fast enough.
During the Prohibition, Sonny made his moonshine, and Ezra Brooks was shut down by the officials. The factory, the barrels, and the fields went bare over night. The whiskey that was left was poured out into the creek. Doors locked and that was it. Ezra was deceased by this time, of course. But her children continued the plight right up until the Dry Laws took.
Now their was some fields near by that grew much corn, and this raised the brows of the locals who got rewarded handsomely for turning over moonshiners to the authorities. As Sonny grew more suspicious that his rope was about to run out. He carefully wrote down the recipe of his famous shine, and hid it.
Sonny died in prison from liver disease, seems the stuff he made was pretty harsh on the liver. But his recipe made it his daughter, and she gave to her Daughter who's name is Burt. Burt has the recipe sealed. And Ezra Brooks is back in the whiskey business.
