I remember as a child, around 8 years old. Me and my
pa where sitting at the dinner table, and
ma just pulled out a tray of
hot corn bread.
And she turned to me and said, " son, do you want a piece of cornbread from the center of the pan, or do you want a piece from the edge."
I thought to myself, the center tends to be softer, yet the edge tends to be more crispy. Well, this is much of a decision for a 8 year old, so I replied back to
ma, I really don't care. It really doesn't matter
ma. And thats about the time my
pa raised his hand to the air, and said,
boy, I ought to kick your
ass across this kitchen, don't you
ever talk to your mother like that
again.
After that incident, I
realized fast, to ask for either the center piece or the edge.
