Yeah, I'm not sure I'd like to find out what happens if a nail goes through a tire with 35 psi spec. if it has 45 psi in it. I doubt it would be a huge deal...unless your speed is +70 mph....or lower on a wet road.

The tire is designed to deflate at a rate allowing for drivers to take evasive action.

In addition to heat capture, here are some other ideas to improve engine efficiencies....not all of which are strictly legal.

1. Software control of battery charging. Don't engage the alternator at lower rpm's.

2. On demand power steering. Disengage the pump when the steering wheel is not being turned beyond a certain amount.

3. Adjust fuel/air ratio to run about 15% leaner when at highway speeds, (illegal...but most emissions tests don't take place at highway speeds....)

4. Software control of 'cylinder skipping' when coasting, or at idle, (also illegal, emissions go crazy...)

5. 'Golf cart' engine starting/stopping when at stop lights, drive thru's, etc.

I would not care to try it. The miniscule fuel savings are just not worth that kind of risk.
