Possibly.. Unless he can manipulate events in the technology market in a way that creates the next big thing that requires an upgrade to Vista.

Otherwise, I think most of us are fairly comfortable in the OS we're using now- whatever that may be.

I personally have no desire to upgrade; I bought my PC for a specific reason, I built it to fill my needs.. and it has filled those need for years just fine. Until I have a need that must be filled with Vista, I wont be upgrading to an OS that requires more resources than 98% of the appli***ions that run on it.

Now, if Google makes an OS, that could be fun

No hoax. There are several versions out already. WebOS's similar to YouOS run the OS inside your browser. It will improve with time and user access speeds.

Bill Gates has very little involvement in the operations of M$FT these days. Steve "Uncle Fester" Balmer is CEO. Bill spends most of his time on his foundation.

I'm looking forward to an open Internet bootable OS.

Sort of like a Linux LiveCD + Network installation combined together.

Should be interesting when all you have to do to format your system is delete your OS folder and hard-boot; boom you're back to factory default!
