It's powered by a pneumatic engine....there's really nothing new there. Compressed air has a very low energy density though...and that's it's main drawback. 300 liters of compressed air, (at 300 bar), has about the same energy as 1.4 liters of gasoline.

I'm sure the idea will work....compressed air engines have been around for well over a hundred years. It's just not going to be the green panacea the article hints at. It's operating cost, (and savings), assumes plentiful, and cheap electrical power. In some places, it will work fine. Here in the U.S.....not. It will be extremely underpowered, and you can forget about things like heaters, a/c, and power anything. Safety will be a big issue, since the body of the vehicle has to be made very light.

necessity is the mother of invention...

i prefer to take the optimistic route -- i think i read something like... 800+ miles to the tank... with an 8 gallon tank... as long as they keep the price low... they were talking about selling it for around 10k USD in S.Africa

Thought of and figured out. This vehicle does have a very light load capacity. It may not be very safe since its made out of fiberglass, but, the price, and the o emissions sounds to good to be true.

I guess if you live in areas that get really hot or cold, it makes sense. Its more important to me to laugh all the way to the bank.

There's no such thing as zero emissions. The energy required to compress the air this thing uses come from somewhere....and you can bet it's not carbon neutral, (unless it's nuclear....but we can't have that either).
