I so agree that the troops won't be out of there as soon as Obama said he'd do it. His idealism is going to make good things happen that wouldn't have with others, but he's still limited by reality.
The sooner the better tho. I watch Nancy Grace every night and I cringe for every person she profiles that died there, and I always expect to hear 'missed by parents, siblings, spouse & 2 children'. I'm usually right, sometimes it varies and there's only one child - still no comfort there.
I always think "god, if those people came home yesterday those kids would have a daddy (or mom) but it comes on 6 months later.... still, if they brought them home one day earlier... how many kids would be playing with Daddy?

in Holland, thats 33% and 52 %...and most of our rich accept that. and it doesnt make them work any less hard, we have one of the strongest economies in the world, and were just invited to the upcoming G10 banking crisis meeting, lol.

allso, people who are healthier, can work more and longer, live longer. which is allso benefitial to the economy.

Those were just numbers for the federal government. There are also state, county, city and sales taxes. Almost everything and every service we buy is taxed at least once and some things multiple times. When it's all said and done, we probably wind up paying about the same amount as you do.

I support the Fair Tax. It makes it simple, and even a dumbass like me can understand it.

its interesting how teh difference in your percentages is actually bigger then with us. i guess your poorest classes get a huge tax cut, more then ours, but ours are probably allso much less poor anyway.
btw we have city and provential taxes too, not sure if those are included in those numbers.

European nations have the Value Added Tax which greatly increases the costs of goods. So, not only do goods cost more due to taxes, but the people make less due to them, too. Can you imagine the spending power the people would have if you lowered the VAT and the income tax just a little bit? Yes, the rate would be lower, but because people are spending more, the economy would go rise!

there are more ways around this, more tax means gouv. can spend more, means more projects, more jobs, more spending. if done right, it could be a lot more profitable then just cutting tax and have a society that is falling apart.

Less tax means people spend more, economy grows, and the government actually makes MORE money! The problem with the American economy today is that Glass-Steagle was revoked. That caused oil to be speculated, and that broke the economy. That, and the Democrats insisting that banks give NINJA loans.

Default OKI, is a socialist......

Over here we call them left wing democrats......

The government should be in charge of everything..... That is how they think.....

The economy works best when the best edu***ed then start their own businesses, that grow and make them rich and the hire more employees who then spend more money who tyhe government can then tax and it is a beautiful chain of events, it is known as the free market......

It is when government steps in and changes the rules of supply and demand...

Telling banks ya got to give loans to people who the odds are will be unable to pay them back and then trying to blame it on the bank industry.....

Bill Clinton and his libs caused it.......

If a family only gets $30,000 a year but want a $500,000 home and the bank is "forced" to make the loan to them and they go bankrupt in years to come why is anyone surprised that after awhile the economy is "F" up?
