No shit. Everything you've said here Eric is true. It's all a ruse.

Instead of a global warming movie, I'm off to finish my Charles Dickens movie. Three more episodes to go. ttl.

Your pal,

Tack

heh, you know the old argument about religion being the cause of historical war and suffering? I often see and use the defense that Kings and leaders will use and manipulate whatever the common belief is at the time of their agenda to persuade their followers into helping the progression of said agenda.

I'm seeing that pattern all over again here with scare tactics regarding global warming, and the energy crisis!

There's not so much an energy "crisis", as there is an energy adjustment. There's still plenty of oil out there, we know where it is, and we know how to get it. What there's not so much of is cheap and easy oil. Unless the government unwisely tries to cap prices (not costs), like it did in the '70's, prices will rise until oil sources that are currently unprofitable become profitable. In short, the supply will be there, albeit at a higher price. Of course, we will also make adjustments by driving less, driving more efficient cars, car pooling, mass transit, etc. It's a painful process, but we WILL get through it. Hopefully, the government won't make the transition take longer.

Oil is a renewable resource. The earth is constantly creating oil.

Currently scientists are working on genetically altering bacteria to consume waste and their byproducts produce oil. It's had limoted success so far, but it will come in time.

If the libbies and the enviromental wackos would let us drill off the cost of Florida we'd ahve tons of oil. But they threw a ihissy fit. Yet China is out there drilling away within sight of Key West.

CHINA STARTS OIL DRILLING

I agree, we will adjust, we will adapt, and it's going to be really tough because we will have to change a great deal about daily life as we know it. We are going to have to sacrifice much of our luxuries in favor of energy and food. We are going to have to sell our large houses, in favor of a smaller place with lower rent. We'll have to buy food that we need, rather than food that we want. We'll have to quit our jobs in favor of closer opportunity. Hopefully these adjustments won't cause a positive feedback loop!

But in the larger picture.. Most people only know what their told. Their being told that their lives are changing in a negative way because oil prices are high. Their also being told that oil prices are high because we're running out. It doesn't matter if that's true or not.. they still believe it because that's what their being told.

With that mental projection, it is indeed a crisis, because their no hope for economic adjustment, and everyone is in panic. THE SKY IS FALLING! Seriously, they see the negative impact of something they don't truly understand, and they run in circles because they don't know what to expect next.

It's not hard to profit from mass misunderstanding; Ask Al Gore.

Remember the "Quicker Picker Upper?", reusable paper towels. strongest paper towel known until Brawny came along, adding tiny plastic strips in the paper!!! Reusable Toilet paper comes to mind!!Exciting shit
You say the Chinese are drilling off the coast of Florida? That would explain the empty Fortune Cookie wrappers that litter the beach!!!

We live in the time of waste! Literally, yet, we live in a Hoarding Time. A time when major resources are owned and run by a very few.
This is a main reason I no longer subscribe to the Newspaper, tired of one sided news.
The Newspapers in America, Media,Radio are owned by a select group or people.
This is dangerous, and has proved to be a bad move for congress to allow Monopolies rule our country, we have laws against such acts, yet, it is happening.
America needs to allow more research and exploration of energy. We have the technology to drive vehicles on air and water, why are we not doing this. Cause they are control freaks.
