when figuring your taxes...

Don't use your last pay slip from 2007 to figure your taxes. Use your W2. YOUR GROSS PAY IS NOT THE SAME THING AS YOUR TAXABLE GROSS PAY.

I used to do my own taxes until last year when I had 3 different states figured into the mix (RI, MA, AZ), I went to an accountant and he charged me nearly $300!

Ironically enough it would have taken him 30 minutes however he couldn't figure out how to do the sate section because I lived in RI but worked in MA and the first time around he did it I had to point out that he was double taxing me in both states

Didn't give me much confidence in his abilities but I got $300 back and only owed $2 so whatever.
