It is written so that you WILL NOT WANT to put it down. Ok, I'll give you an idea why I liked it so much: The main character Jude Coyne is an 50-something Lead Vocalist of Heavy Metal Band "Jude's Hammer" who lives year to year with one hawt gawth chick after another until a ghost comes to live with him. A very very bad ghost. I'll not give away ANY more plot because it will ruin the story, and because I doubt anyone reading this will actually ever read the book.

Chasing Windmills

Chasing Windmills by Catherine Ryan Hyde

Just finished this book. I'm not going to write a plot review: I'll just let you know Why I liked It.

It had depth. This surprised me because the first chapter almost made me quit because it was written from the perspective of a 17 year old recluse, and sounded more than a little "Emo." But the story begins to fold in on itself with interesting...even SURPRISING... irony that you don't find much in today's fiction: No predictable INSANE KILLER scenes???!!! "In many ways, my commitment to social justice was shaped in reality by Martin Luther King and in fantasy by 'Star Trek.'”

Obama, Jenkins points out, positioned himself in the primaries as a man "at home with both blacks and whites, someone whose mixed racial background has forced him to become a cultural translator." In this sense Obama even surpasses Spock, whose struggle to reconcile his half-human, half-Vulcan genes is a continual source of inner conflict. In one episode, the entire Enterprise crew (except for Kirk) is infected by alien spores that turn them into doe-eyed flower children. The "cure" is anger -- thus Kirk is forced to provoke his first officer to rage. He succeeds, spectacularly, by insulting Spock’s racial pedigree: "All right, you mutinous half-breed! You’re an overgrown jackrabbit! An elf, with a hyperactive thyroid! A simpering, devil-eared freak whose father was a computer and his mother an encyclopedia!"
Quantcast

Confronted with a similar insult, Barack Obama would probably just laugh. "The Vulcan side of Obama, the core of his character, hasn't changed [since the election]," Jenkins believes. "He's tough, he’s cool and he’s rational." His appeal stems from the self-aware integration of all aspects of his personality: black and white, wonk and poet, athlete and aesthete.

Like Spock, part of what makes Obama so appealing is the fact that although he’s an outsider -- "proudly alien," as Leonard Nimoy once put it -- he uses that distance to cultivate a sense of perspective. And while we're drawn to Spock's exotic traits -- the pointy ears, green blood and weird mating rituals -- we take comfort in his soothing baritone, prominent nose and ordinary teeth.
This article is so retarded on so many levels it is difficult to pick where to start to unravel the lunatic fantasies of fanboi Greenwald, though a good place to start would probably be to look at Obama's judicial philosophy as noted in this recent article by Jeff Jacoby:
Time and again, Obama has called for judges who do not put their private political views aside when deciding cases. In choosing a replacement for Justice David Souter, the president says, he will seek not just "excellence and integrity," but a justice whose "quality of empathy, of understanding and identifying with people's hopes and struggles," would be "an essential ingredient" in his jurisprudence. In an interview last year, he said he would look for judges "sympathetic" to those "on the outside, those who are vulnerable, those who are powerless."

When he voted against the confirmation of Chief Justice John Roberts in 2005, Obama declared that the "truly difficult" cases that come before the Supreme Court can be decided only with reference to "the depth and breadth of one's empathy," and that "the critical ingredient is supplied by what is in the judge's heart."

But such cardiac justice is precisely what judges "do solemnly swear" to renounce. Sympathy for others is an admirable virtue. But a judge's private commiserations are not relevant to the law he is expected to apply.
Sure sounds like a Spock to me! :hehe:

Dedicated to No Brakes!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NOZH0y7VxE

lol jk, you know I love you, Sweety! ;)

I miss the Boogie Woogie Wonderland

...And we lack rocking smilies.

"Lies" by Naked Aggression (guitar cover)

I'm not wearing a mask in this one because I was in a hurry to get this cover done and and my grandpa was just getting off work.

"Hungry Hungry Models" by The Network (guitar cover)

I hate New Wave, but The Network's songs are pretty funny in a sick sort of way.

Here's their video for the song itself so you can understand the lyrics better.

Nitro Circus

I love this show!!! Now I understand why McCain lost: His campaign had smaller balls than Hillary Clinton's. Yeah, now DngrMse is gonna show up to explain that "The Media" was on Barak Hussein, Jr.'s side. For christssake, stop making excuses. Did "The Media" also force McCain to roll over in each debate? Another interesting point of Corsi's book is something I think should be detailed in more depth now that the Republicans have been so incredibly defeated: Restructuring (or preferably disbanding) the Republican Party. He explains that the Democrat's Primary system, unlike the Republican's Primary system, allows little known candidates the chance to win the nomination. This can, obviously be a good thing, as in the case of Barak Hussein, Jr., and a Bad thing as in the case of McCain. He notes that the Republican Primaries are a "Winner take all," i.e. if a candidate wins a state's Republican primary, ALL that state's delegates are his, regardless of how slim a margin. Democrats split the delegates according to the proportion of how many votes a candidate receives. IMHO, the Republicans would have a much better chance of winning (or to be more precise, keeping the GOP from disintegrating into two parties) in 2012 if they adopted the Democrat's delegate ratio method. At any rate, the book's an amusing excersise in examining Republican Overconfidance in the 2008 election.

Taken

Ooh-wee it's chocked full of goodness!Darn i have yet to find a good trailer..............It is so darn good!

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

The Curious Case of Benjamin ButtonI liked it.
